As the Senior Financial Advisor, Certified Financial Strategist, Licensee & Director of Chrysalis Lifestyle Planning, Phil is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and it’s compliance with the law. He is also responsible for client advice, strategy implementation and portfolio monitoring.
Phil has worked in the financial planning industry since 1996 and has been providing financial advice to clients since 1998. In recent years Phil has featured in professional training videos and Phil’s opinion has been sought by journalists and industry associations wanting to know his views on issues facing the financial advice industry in Australia. Clients tell us that Phil is a ‘rare find’. He is able to communicate to clients in language they understand and cut through the complexity and jargon. He genuinely cares for each and every client and has a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude when it comes to protecting his client’s wealth and shooting for their goals. Today Chrysalis is an award winning, independently owned advisory practice which employs a team of like-minded individuals all committed to making a meaningful difference in our client’s lives.
Personally
Post university the opportunity arose for Phil to take what he thought would be a short break from teaching to explore the world as a Long haul flight attendant with Qantas. Phil then wanted to put his tertiary study and natural skillsets to work in order to make a contribution to the lives of others. So he embarked on a search that ultimately led him to a financial advisory career. These days when not sitting behind the desk, Phil ‘s priority is his family, friends and his faith. He is married to Silvie and has two daughters, Annika & Saskia. He enjoys his fishing, tennis, 4WD adventures, overseas travel, fitness training and surfing. Phil also serves at a community soup kitchen at his church in Manly, is a Justice Of The Peace and sits on the advisory board of a global children’s ministry organisation.
One of Jo’s many gifts lies in her ability to engage and communicate with clients of all ages. Jo understands clients’ needs and has mastered the art of translating technical strategies into plain English. Jo has worked in the financial planning industry since 2006 and alongside Phil since 2008. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
Over this time she has transitioned from managing the administration team into a financial advice role. Jo has thoroughly enjoyed this transition to an advising career and pushing herself to learn and grow as a professional. Jo is very much an instrumental part of the Chrysalis culture and loves working in a team environment where all opinions are valued. For Jo, going above and beyond for clients is all part of a service package which makes the Chrysalis experience personalised and unique in the marketplace.
Personally
Jo enjoys spending time with her family. She embraces the challenge that comes with juggling family life alongside a professional career. Jo also enjoys following various sports teams, in particular those that are close to her native culture – New Zealand. So whenever the All Blacks are contesting the Wallabies there is sure to be constant banter in the office!
